Local Activities
Cayman highlights include...
-
Snorkeling - You can snorkel directly in front of the condo at Rum Point. A Must-Do is Sting Ray City. You can feed the stingray in the water.
-
Scuba - There are many good dive sites and lots of good dive shops (Ocean Frontiers, Red Sail Sports, Don Fosters, etc...) on the island.
-
Fishing - Try deep sea or bottom fishing with any of the following: Island Girl Charters, Just FishN, Capt. Bryans, Bayside Watersports.
-
Botanical Gardens - There are beautiful gardens, just right for a leisurely walk, about 10 minutes from the condo.
-
Hell - North of 7 Mile Beach lies the town of Hell. There is a post office where you can buy a postcard and mail it postmarked from Hell.
-
The Blow Holes - Take a scenic tour on Frank Sound Road and visit the Blowholes carved out of the shoreline.
-
Submarine - Stop in Georgetown and go underwater in the glass submarines at Atlantis Adventures and The Nautilus. There is also a deep water submarine for 2 people that is fantastic, although a little "pricie."
-
Golfing - There are two courses on the island. The best is the 18 hole at the Links at Safehaven, followed by the 18 hole at the Hyatt.
-
Shopping - There is lots of shopping to suit any budget in Georgetown.
-
Dining - There are many great restaurants near the condo, serving anything from high-end gourmet to hamburgers. Try the Hyatt At Rum Point, the Kaibo Yacht Club, Portofino’s, The Lighthouse, Over the Edge. There are Sunday brunches at Portofino’s. Be sure to take in the Sunday night barbeque at the Driftwood Sports Bar.
-
Groceries - There is a small store (Chisholm’s) about 5 minutes from the condo for basic needs. There are also large supermarkets (Fosters on seven mile, Fosters at the airport, in Savannah and across from Morritts on the East End, Hurleys and Kirks). They carry anything you will need. We like Hurleys at Grand Harbor on your way to the condo.
- Internet - There is high-speed wireless access in the condo and at the Kaibo Yacht Club. Or leave your laptop at home and enjoy the island (if you have a relapse, there are two spots: Dicken's Internet Cafe and JD's Pub on 7 Mile Beach).
